Greg Hopkins, currently one of the top players in the Arena Football League, was a four-year letterman and three-time All-America and All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selection as a member of The Rock football team. He also earned GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America honors as a senior.
A 1995 graduate of SRU, Hopkins also earned two letters and an alternate berth to the NCAA Division I national tournament in wrestling and secured a PSAC Championships berth in his only season on The Rock outdoor track and field team.
Hopkins remains The Rock's all-time leader in pass receptions (215), pass receiving yards (3,382) and pass receiving touchdowns (28).
A 10-year veteran of the Arena Football League, Hopkins has earned a pair of All-Arena honors. He received the league's top individual honor, "Ironman of the Year," in 2002 and holds the league career record for interceptions returned for a touchdown with eight.
A native of Nineveh and 1990 graduate of Waynesburg High School, Hopkins is a member of the AFL Players Association's executive board. He has also served as Morris Township Auditor and acting president of the township's community center committee.
