SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa.- The Rock snapped a three-game losing streak Tuesday night as it defeated Penn State –Behrend 11-6 in the Morrow Field House Pool.
Both teams were tied two-all at the end of the first quarter. The Green and White's first quarter goals came from
Ashley Goodwill and
Betsy Wilson.
That would be as close as PSU-Behrend would get as The Rock out-scored The Lions 4-0 in the second quarter.
Beth Choike led the scoring attack scoring two of her five goals in the second quarter. Choike scored two more in the third, and capped off her night with one more in the fourth.
Heather Walbright also contributed one goal in the second and added another in the third.
Sarah Sander rounded out The Rock scoring attack adding one goal in the second quarter and another in the fourth.
The win snaps a three-game losing streak for The Rock and moves their overall record to 2-9 overall and 1-3 in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Western Division.
The Rock next travels to Villanova, Pa. to compete in the Villanova Invitational. The Green and White will play three-games in the span of two-days beginning on March 29 with a game vs. Utica College at 6 p.m. SRU then takes on host Villanova University on March 30 at 9:15 a.m. and Iona College at 11:30 a.m.
