The split in first-day action of the Villanova Invitational gives SRU a 3-10 record heading into Sunday's match with the host team
VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Beth Choike scored eight goals Saturday to lead The Rock to a split in first-day action of the Villanova Invitational.
Choike scored five goals in SRU's 13-4 win over Utica and added three goals in a 13-7 loss to Iona. She also had an assist, a steal and a caused kickout vs. Utica and two steals and two caused kickouts vs. Iona.
Betsy Wilson scored two goals and had two assists and a steal vs. Utica and scored two goals, two assists, three steals and one caused kickout vs. Iona.
Heather Walbright scored two goals and had three assists, three steals and three caused kickouts vs. Utica and added two assists, three steals and four caused kickouts vs. Iona.
Sarah Sander also scored two goals and had three assists and three steals vs. Utica and had an assist and a steal vs. Iona, while
Ashley Goodwill chipped in a goal and a steal vs. Utica and had two goals and one steal vs. Iona;
K.C. Edmondson had a goal and two caused kickouts vs. Utica; Megan Jo Ramage had two assists and a steal vs. Utica and
Katie Van Campen had two steals vs. Utica.

Lauren Surbaugh recorded 11 saves in the win over Utica and nine saves and three steals vs. Iona.
The Rock takes on the host team Sunday in its third and final game of the invitational, then hosts Mercyhurst in a 7:30 p.m. game April 4 in the Morrow Field House pool.
