SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- As expected, The Rock learned Wednesday afternoon that it has received a berth in the NCAA Division II East Regional tournament.

SRU will take a 20-3 record into its first-round game May 8 or 9 vs. Holy Family University (15-5) at Bryant College in Rhode Island.

The winner of the Rock-Holy Family match will meet the winner of a first-round match between Bryant (23-2) or Philadelphia University (17-6) in a second-round match May 9 or 10.

The winner of that second-round match will play the winner of the Valdosta State (Ga.) regional in third-round action the following week in Houston, TX.

Joining Valdosta State in the Georgia regional will be Tuskegee (22-4) and North Alabama (9-5).

The regional tournament berth is the second straight earned by The Rock. SRU advanced to the regional finals in 2007 before losing to Bloomsburg on the Huskie's' home courts.
