LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Five members of first Rock team to earn an NCAA postseason berth were named Wednesday to All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division honors.
Sophomore first baseman
Jessica Kortz, senior utility player
Meghan McHenry and senior shortstop
Stacey Rhoades each earned first-team stats, while freshman
Shardea Croes and sophomore
Courtney Vincent each earned second-team status as outfielders.
The all-conference honors were the second each for Kortz, McHenry, Rhoades and Vincent.
Vincent was the PSAC-West "Rookie of the Year" and a first-team All-PSAC-West selection a year ago, while Kortz and Rhoades each earned second-team status last spring. McHenry was a second-team selection as a sophomore in 2006.
Croes is hitting .373 with three doubles, four triples, one home run and 10 RBIs.
Kortz is batting .306 with six doubles, a team-best nine HRs and 34 RBIs.
McHenry is batting .359 with seven doubles, eight HRs and a team-best 37 RBIs.
Rhoades has compiled a team-best .376 batting average with five doubles, eight home runs and 32 RBIs.
Vincent is batting .329 with two doubles, one HR and eight RBIs.
The five all-conference performers led The Rock to a school-record 27 wins this spring (27-15 overall record) and a first-ever berth in NCAA postseason competition.
