CALIFORNIA, Pa. -- Jen Harpp,
Jaime Wright and
Laura Mucho finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, in the individual competition to lead The Rock to the team title in Saturday's California University of Pa. Invitational.
The Rock finished with 38 points to reign over a 12-team field. Grove City College finished second with 64 points, followed by Franciscan University with 104.
Harpp ran an 18:35 time on the 5,000-meter course, while Wright recorded an 18:41 time and Mucho ran a 19:09 time.
Leslie Kramer was The Rock's fourth finisher with a 10th-place time of 20:00 and
Julia Hubbard rounded out the SRU scorers with a 13th-place time of 20:13.
Kristen Carter of Grove City won the individual championship with a time of 18:22.
The Rock is idle for two weeks before it will compete in the Sept. 20 Indiana U. of Pa. Invitational.
SRU was originally scheduled to compete in the Seagull Opener in Ocean City, Md., on Saturday but those plans changed in the wake of the tropical storm that hit the east coast.
