The Slippery Rock University field hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision to Indiana (Pa.) on Tuesday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Matchup at Thompson Stadium. Slippery Rock falls to 2-14 overall and 1-5 in the PSAC-West.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University field hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision to Indiana (Pa.) on Tuesday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Matchup at Thompson Stadium. Slippery Rock falls to 2-14 overall and 1-5 in the PSAC-West. 

Junior Lisa Belcastro recorded five saves in the game, while freshman Gabrielle Malishchak recorded The Rock’s only shot of the game. 

The Crimson Hawks, now 5-7 overall and 5-2 in the PSAC-West, did not allow a SRU shot in the first half. The first goal was scored in the fifth minute by Jenna Humphreys. Indiana continued its scoring with Humphreys assisting Shannon Sullivan in the 15th minute to make the score 2-0. 

In the 32nd minute, Anouk Sickman beat Belcastro to the far side to take a 3-0 lead in to halftime.
The Rock was outshot 6-0 in the first half. 

In the second half, sophomore Erin Moran made a defensive save on Laura Paanakker to net her third of the season. In the 63rd minute, Humphreys scored her second of the game to seal the win for the Crimson Hawks. 

Slippery Rock will travel to Mansfield on Saturday for the start of a three-game road trip. The game is set to start at noon.
