EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- The Slippery Rock University field hockey team dropped a 3-0 contest at No. 3 East Stroudsburg Sunday afternoon. The loss makes The Rock’s overall record 2-15 and 1-5 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division. 

East Stroudsburg, 13-5 overall and 5-3 in the PSAC-East, held The Rock to two shots in the game. The shots were recorded by juniors Kaite Krouse and Allie Hartman

In the 19th minute, Jessica Frantz scored her 10th goal of the season being assisted by Joanna Reckley. In the 23rd minute, Reckley beat Lisa Belcastro to take a 2-0 lead in to half time. 

East Stroudsburg outshot The Rock 12-1 and SRU did not have a penalty corner attempt in the first half.
In the 38th minute, Kierstyn DeNardo took a penalty corner that connected with Caitlin Brownley for her 17th goal of the season, and the 3-0 final score. 

Belcastro recorded eight saves in the game, and the Warriors outshot The Rock 20-2 for the game. 

The next game for The Rock will be at Mercyhurst for a PSAC-West matchup on Wednesday. The game will start at 4 pm.
