LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – For the first time in school history, three members of the Slippery Rock University field Hockey team have earned All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-Western Division honors.

Junior goalie Lisa Belcastro, sophomore defender Erin Moran and freshman midfielder Gabrielle Malishchak were all selected to second team honors in voting by the division’s head coaches.

Their selection marked the first time since 1998 that SRU had an all-conference performer in field hockey.

Belcastro, a native of Doylestown, Pa. finished the season with a 2.64 goals against average, a .769 save percentage and recorded 173 saves over 19 games.  Belcastro ranks first in the PSAC in saves and saves per game. She also ranks third in Division II in saves per game and seventh in save percentage. 

Moran, a native of Plymouth, Pa. finished the season with three defensive saves in 19 games.  She finished the season ranked sixth in the PSAC in defensive saves.

Malishchak, a native of Wanamie, Pa. finished the season the team leader with 10 points and two game winning goals.  She also finished the season with four goals, and started in each of The Rock’s 19 games.

The three All-PSAC-West performers led The Rock to a 3-16 overall record, the most wins for a Rock field hockey team since 2006, and a 1-6 mark in division competition.
