Millersville Box Score

Indiana, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University volleyball team went 1-1 against the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern division Friday, hosted by Indiana (Pa.). The Rock lost to Shippensburg 3-1 and defeated Millersville 3-0. 

In the first match, The Rock lost the first set, to tie it up in the second. The Lady Raiders took advantage of an error-filled third set for SRU and completed the fourth set with a 27-25 win. 

Freshman Hannah McShea led both teams with 15 kills on eight errors. McShea also added six digs and two block assists. Sophomore Kaylee Smith tallied 13 kills, 14 digs and two aces. Juniors Anna Bixler and Kim Wilson totaled 39 assists in the matchup, and senior Stacey Domer led the team in digs with 24. 

In the late game, The Rock was in control of the match from beginning to end, leading the Marauders in attack percentage, .292 to .038, kills, 31 to 24, and aces, six to four. 

Smith was the only player in the match to have double digit kills, with 12. Smith also had an ace and seven digs. Sophomore Kristin Slavoski has seven kills on one error and three block assists. Wilson led the match with 13 assists. 

The Rock returns to action Saturday for another double header against the PSAC East facing Lock Haven at 12:30 pm and East Stroudsburg at 3 pm.
