Daugherty PSAC Student-Athlete Profile
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference unveiled a new website feature Wednesday in an effort to showcase a more personal side of student-athletes from its 16 member institutions. Slippery Rock pole vaulter
Cameron Daugherty is among the first two athletes in the PSAC to be profiled.
The PSAC will run the feature titled 'Student-Athlete Profile' each week along the right side of the league homepage at
www.psacsports.org. Each week, one male and one female athlete from one of the 16 schools in the conference will be profiled.
The plan for the remainder of the 2011-12 academic year is to feature one winter and one spring athlete from each school.
Slippery Rock joined Cheyney as the two schools that have a featured athlete in the first profiles.
Daugherty, a junior criminal justice major, currently has the best clearance in the PSAC and the fourth-best mark in the nation at 5.05 meters. He is looking to continue his success at the national level, where he earned a pair of All-America finishes at last year's indoor and outdoor National Championships.
He was chosen not only for his outstanding athletic and academic credentials, but due to his unique background that saw him attend high school in Okinawa, Japan before graduating from Mililani High School in Hawaii.
While the profile does include athletic and academic questions, it also provides a look into the personal lives of the student-athletes. To view Daugherty's complete profile, visit the link at the top of this page.
