Hey Rock Lax Followers!

Today was a long but exciting day. We left last night at 8:30 p.m. from Slippery Rock and started our journey to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We arrived around 9:30 a.m. and unloaded the bus. After a few hours of relaxation and unpacking, we had a team activity, which consisted of KICK BALL!!!!! Our team has a long tradition of playing kickball as a competitive sport amongst each other. It can get intense, but today we enjoyed the sun and all had a good time. Kickball then soon turned into the longest game of SPUD ever but it was a lot of fun!

At 6 p.m. we scrimmaged Gordon College from Massachusetts and won 11-5! It was good to see what we needed to work on for the rest of the week and to just play again and get back to the game. Then the team was able to wind down for the rest of the day and have a relaxing dinner at the Olive Garden. As always, the bread sticks were AMAZING.

We are looking forward towards the rest of the week !

Thank you all for following!!

Sincerely,
Gilly #66 and Lydia #2

Saturday, March 16

After being in Slippery Rock and practicing in the typically cool weather, the day started off nicely in Myrtle Beach. The team arose from their first slumbers in spiffy digs at random times, since there was no morning practice.

Greeted with sunshine and 60-degree weather, we celebrated with breakfast on the balcony and fulfilling morning workouts. After the craze of breakfast and working out died off, everyone could be found poolside chatting, listening to music, reading and relaxing in the bright sunshine.

Some of us fell victim to the antics of our graduate assistant, Tommy, by getting thrown into the pool. After being thrown into the pool, some players reveled in the freshness of the water and enjoyed jumping in at their leisure.

We spent the afternoon on the field in the beautiful lacrosse weather and arrived back at our house, where the senior and junior class began to cook dinner for the household. Hearing Latin music, laughter and the smell of fajitas coming from the kitchen was a great way to come downstairs after practice. The food was enjoyed with some specialty chips and dip, which included, but were not limited to: guacamole, queso, salsa and spinach artichoke dip.

Nighttime yields a time where everyone hangs out without the stress of school. There are cookies in the oven, puzzles being put together, eyebrows being waxed, nails being painted and TV shows being watched: just another normal day of spring break as we anxiously await our first game.

A new day is tomorrow, we'll see what it will bring.
