Lacrosse Journals from Myrtle Beach: Our Day Off

The SRU women's lacrosse team checks in with updates from Monday, March 18 on their annual spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C.

This is the third in a series of journal entries that will be posted throughout the week chronicling The Rock women's lacrosse team's spring break trip to Myrtle Beach.

Monday, March 18

Hello world,

Alas, the day has come for Rock lax's day off. With no set time to wake up, everyone on the team took their time leaving bed, whether it be to watch the picturesque sunrise of Myrtle Beach in the morning or the early hours of the afternoon.

After a wonderful breakfast of assorted fruit and chocolate pancakes everyone decided to spend their day outside.

No lacrosse practice clothes could be seen, because everyone was soaking up the sweet and savory rays of the sun in their bathing suits. We didn't stray too far from the sport though, because we could be found playing lacrosse on the beach. Though the water is slightly frigid, no one passed the opportunity to take a dip in the Atlantic Ocean.

Some of us made the mistake of feeding the seagulls and proceeded to get harassed and swarmed by many of the seabirds.

During the night we took a trip to the hibachi grill for some fresh Japanese food. The team was highly entertained in both spirit and stomach from the joyful staff and most of us were extremely full from the hearty meal of chicken, shrimp, noodles, rice and more.

After dinner, as girls do, we went shopping at Broadway at the Beach. It was nice to walk in the fresh air of Myrtle Beach and buy things for ourselves and gifts for our families. We decided to go to eat frozen yogurt for dessert and even made it to FroYo's Facebook page since our group is SO charismatic.

Once back in Spiffy Digs, everyone got on their jammies, put in movies and relaxed until we fell into the realm of sleep, filled with dreams of game day.

Game day eve is tomorrow (: hooray!
