SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock University's men's basketball team seeks to move one step closer to adding one more home game to its schedule Wednesday when it hosts Edinboro University in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division game.
Tipoff in Morrow Field House is set for 8 p.m.

Two away: The Rock, who have earned a conference tournament berth for the fourth consecutive season, are two wins away from locking up a home game to open postseason play.
The records: The Rock bring a 17-8 overall record and an 8-5 PSAC West mark into this game.
Edinboro owns a 9-14 overall record and is 2-11 against division rivals.
Division standings: The Rock are alone in fourth place in the PSAC West standings, 2.5 games behind division-leading Gannon (16-8 overall, 11-3 PSAC-W) and two games behind Indiana (20-3, 10-3) and Mercyhurst (14-9, 10-3), which are tied for second place. SRU leads fifth-place Seton Hill (15-9, 7-7) by 1.5 games in the battle for a top-four finish that carries with it a home game to open the conference tournament. Pitt-Johnstown (12-11, 5-8) is currently in sixth place, followed by California (9-15, 4-10), Clarion (5-16, 3-10) and Edinboro.
Playoff field: The top six teams at the end of regular-season competition Feb. 26 advance to the conference's single-elimination tournament. Five of the six berths in both the Western and Eastern divisions have been secured. Gannon, Indiana, Mercyhurst, The Rock and Seton Hill are all assured of berths from the West, while East Stroudsburg, West Chester, Bloomsburg, Lock Haven and Millersville are guaranteed postseason lives in the East.
The coaches: Kevin Reynolds ranks fourth on The Rock's all-time wins list with a 114-58 record in six seasons. Reynolds has led SRU to two appearances in the NCAA tournament, two PSAC runner-up finishes, three PSAC semifinal appearances and five trips to the PSAC playoffs. Reynolds, who once served as an assistant coach at Edinboro, is 8-3 all-time against the Fighting Scots.
Pat Cleary is in his first season as Edinboro's head coach after serving 12 seasons as a Fighting Scots assistant coach under longtime Edinboro boss Greg Walcavich. As head coach, Cleary is 0-1 against SRU.
The series: Edinboro holds a 94-84 lead in the all-time series that dates back to the 1912-13 season. The Fighting Scots built that advantage by beating The Rock six consecutive times from 2005-08 and in 15 of 16 meetings from 2000-08 before Reynolds assumed The Rock coaching reins in May 2008.
Rock stars: Maurice Lewis-Briggs leads The Rock and ranks seventh in the PSAC in scoring with a 17.1 points per game average. Lewis-Briggs also ranks 11th in the PSAC in rebounding with a 7.4 per game average.
Tabari Perry (right photo) is second on the team in scoring at 11.1 ppg and leads the team/ranks seventh in the PSAC in rebounding with a 7.8 per-game average.
Josh Martin scores 9.3 ppg and hands out 3.5 assists per game (#9 in the PSAC).
Kelvin Dixon is The Rock's fourth leading scorer at 8.1 ppg and grabs 5.5 rebounds per game. Super sub

Mo-mentum: Lewis-Briggs, the only Rock player to earn a PSAC West Athlete of the Week honor this winter, has scored 10 or more points in each of the last 14 games and 21 of the first 25 games this winter. Lewis-Briggs has averaged 20.7 points per game in the last 14 games.
Common components: The Rock and Fighting Scots have faced 14 common rivals this winter. SRU is 11-7 against those foes, while Edinboro is 5-13 against the common foes. The Rock have beaten the common foes by an average score of 71-64 while Edinboro has been on the low end of a 78-73 average score.
Scouting the Scots: Bryan Theriot ranks fourth in the PSAC in rebounding with an 8.1 per game average and is fifth in scoring at 17.5 points per game. Jonny Marsh is fifth in assists at 3.8 per game and 17th in scoring at 14.1 points per game. Henri Wade-Chatman averages 12.7 points and 3,4 assists per game, Johnathan Logan adds 8.6 ppg, Xavier Churnac chips in 8.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and Alex Moore averages 6.0 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
Crunching the numbers: The Rock lead the 18-team PSAC in rebounding margin (+10.4 per game) and rank third in scoring margin (+8.8 points per game), fourth in scoring defense (64.1 ppg) and eighth in scoring offense (72.9 ppg).
Edinboro ranks fifth in rebounding margin (+2.8 per game), seventh in scoring offense (73.1 ppg) and 12th in both scoring defense (74.3 ppg) and scoring margin (-1.3 ppg).
Earlier meeting: The Rock never trailed en route to a 64-54 win [
boxscore] Jan. 11 in Edinboro, but needed a late run to ice the victory. After holding a 14-point (47-33) lead with 14 minutes left to play, SRU found itself up by only one point, 55-54, with three minutes remaining before sinking seven of eight free throws as part of a 9-0 run in the final 180 seconds. Dixon scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds for SRU, Lewis-Briggs added 14 points and Perry had nine points, a game-high 15 rebounds and seven assists. Marsh scored 14 points for Edinboro. Bryan Theriot had 12 points and eight rebounds and Wade-Chatman added 11 points and eight rebounds.
Preseason poll: In a preseason poll of the PSAC-West head coaches, The Rock were picked to finish third behind defending Indiana (Pa.) and Gannon. Edinboro was picked to finish eighth among the nine PSAC-West teams in the preseason poll.
Home-court advantage:Â The Rock own a 66-17 (79.5%) record in home games under Reynolds' guidance.
On the road again: The Rock make their final regular-season road trip of the season Saturday when they travel to Greensburg to meet Seton Hill in a 3 p.m. game.
