ResultsYOUNGSTOWN, Ohio –
Sabrina Anderson broke her own record in the pentathlon to lead the Slippery Rock University women's indoor track and field team on the first day of the Youngstown State University National Invite Friday evening.
Â
Anderson entered the weekend with the fifth best pentathlon score among Division II athletes so far this year with her SRU record of 3,735 points from earlier this season. She topped that mark by winning the event with an NCAA provisional mark of 3,774 points.
Â
Along the way, she hit the PSAC qualifying standard in all five events, including the 800-meter run, where she posted a career-best time of 2:23.04, which ranks among the best marks in the league this year for middle-distance runners.
Â
Anderson also hit the NCAA provisional mark in the high jump with a clearance of 1.66 meters Friday night, matching her season best and second best mark in the conference so far this year.
Â
Anderson's five PSAC marks and two NCAA marks Friday night were the highlight on a night when Slippery Rock hit 10 PSAC qualifying marks and three NCAA provisional marks.
Â
The other NCAA qualifier Friday night belonged to
Kaitlyn Clark, who won the pole vault with a clearance of 3.70 meters, just off her season-best mark of 3.80 meters, which is currently the eighth best in the country.
Â

Michaela Kasik and
Maria Darling all reached the PSAC standard in the pole vault and tied for 11th place with clearances of 3.15 meters.
Â
