The Fall Season is upon us. Wow, where did Summer go?
Our fall-sport student-athletes have been back on campus for almost a month and are off to a good start. I hope you get a chance to see one or more of our teams in action, as they create many more wonderful moments for Slippery Rock University and Rock Athletics.
Our Athletic Hall of Fame will be inducting seven very deserving individuals at the SRU Athletic Hall of Fame induction banquet on Saturday, Sept. 29, in the ballroom of the new Smith Student Center. It will be an awesome day for Anthony Calderaio, Class of 1983; Sonya Maher, Class of 1999; Gene Collodi, Class of 1963; Todd Olsen, Class of 1985; Ken Denne, Class of 1959; Jim Ward, Class of 1998; and Ron Hunt, Class of 1973 and 1975.
The Hall of Fame Board will also be giving special recognition to the 1989-90 men’s basketball team and coaches.
Tickets must be purchased in advance by Sept. 20. Please contact the Athletic Department or SRU Alumni office for more information.
The inductees will also be honored at halftime of the home football game against Kutztown. Kickoff for the game is set for 6 p.m.
