Michael Petticrew earned his spot in the Slippery Rock Soccer Ring of Honor after playing a role for both the men's team and the women's club team during his four years at Slippery Rock.

Upon graduating from Archbishop Ryan High School, Petticrew began his collegiate career as a member of The Rock's men's team for two seasons. He helped Slippery Rock to a 13-4 record in 1976 and a 9-3-2 mark in 1977. Petticrew then finished his time at SRU as the women's team club coach from 1978-80.

Following his graduation in 1980, Petticrew found employment at George Junior Republic as a relief houseparent for three years before moving to his home city of Philadelphia where he continued to work with at-risk youths. While in Philadelphia, Petticrew started one of the cities first youth soccer leagues at the YMCA.

After a move to New Jersey, Petticrew became the varsity head coach at Palmyra High School where he led the Panthers to an unprecedented three Freedom Division Championships.

Petticrew, who is also a licensed real estate agent in New Jersey, also spent two years as the girls soccer coach at Palmyra during the 2010 and 2011 seasons before resigning to accept his current position as the Student Assistance Counselor / Anti-Bully Specialist and boys soccer coach for the Washington Township School District.

He resides in Cherry Hill, New Jersey with his wife Laura and has four children: a daughter Kelly and stepsons Fabian Cortez, Robert Cortez and Dan Cortez.
