Photo GallerySLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – The Slippery Rock University men's cross country team competed on its home course for the first of three times Friday with an intersquad race dubbed the SRU Invitational.
The Rock men ran against each other with the addition of two unattached runners and covered the 8,000-meter course at Cooper's Lake Campground, the same course that will host the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championship meet Oct. 24.
Jeremy Parsons returned to action to lead the way with a time of 26:49.
Steve Green took second in 27:07, followed by
Ryan Thompson rounding out the top three in 27:40.
Jeff Henderson was The Rock's fourth finisher in 27:59 and the fifth finisher was
Ryan McGuire in 28:20.
Theo Reynolds came home sixth in 28:35, followed by
Charlie Frank (28:47),
Connor MacKelvey (28:59),
Stephen Shephard (29:19),
Andrew Maxwell (31:09) and
Josh Aultz (38:00).
The Rock will get their next shot at running against other competition next Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Lock Haven Invitational.
